Grant Information: Supporting in Crime Prevention in Brown County

The Brown County Crime Prevention Foundation is committed to reducing crime and enhancing public safety through proactive crime prevention strategies. One of the key we achieve this mission is by awarding grants to local organizations, law enforcement agencies, schools, and community groups dedicated to implementing effective crime prevention programs.

We believe that fostering a safe and secure community requires collaboration and investment in programs that prevent crime before it occurs. These initiatives address the root cause of crime ,build stronger community relationships, and improve the overall quality of life in Brown County. Through grants, we can support efforts to educate, engage, and empower residents while reinforcing the important role of law enforcement in preventing crime.

Why Grants are Essential for Crime Prevention

The need for continued crime prevention efforts in Brown County is more pressing than ever. Crime is not just a reaction to individual actions, but often a result of broader social challenges, including substance abuse, poverty, and lack of community engagement. By funding crime prevention strategies, we can address these issues head-on and significantly reduce crime rates in our neighborhoods.

Our grants help fund

  • Educational Programs- Initiatives like D.A.R.E., youth mentorship, and after-school programs that provide young people with alternatives to crime and violence.
  • Community Policing and Engagement- Funding for programs that build trust between law enforcement and the community, creating safe, more connected neighborhoods.
  • Crime Prevention Technology- Tools and resources that enhance local law enforcement’s ability to prevent and respond to crime, including surveillance systems and communications technologies
  • Neighborhood and Youth Safety Projects- Grants that support local businesses and residents in implementing neighborhood watch programs, violence reduction campaigns, and other safety initiatives.

These programs are vital in reducing the likelihood of criminal activity in our community and promoting long-term safety for residents of all ages.
